Conspiracy Theory

Jenn and I are watching Roswell via Netflix this summer. It is such a teeny bopper show; but it is brain candy. We watch a couple of episodes a night. Here is the entire plot: Teenage aliens are in love with humans. They are together one episode. Then they break up the next. Rinse, repeat

I don’t know why, but we love it.

In general I think people like conspiracy theories because they explain the inexplicable. Bad things happen. People get disease. People die for no reason. Most of the time it is senseless. But add in a conspiracy theory and it is all wrapped up in a neat little package.

Faith is like that too. It explains the inexplicable. It gives meaning to senseless pain. The thought that we could possibly live in a meaningless and random universe is unimaginable.

But what if it is?
