    My question is how my speech was defiled by some upper Midwestern speech patterns! Must be enough of the influence of my grandparents from Indiana.

    40% General American (Thank you to an excellent voice and diction teacher in college)
    35% Yankee (Thank you to a very fine up brining in New Jersey)
    10% Dixie (Thank you to in-laws that live in Oklahoma)
    10% Upper Midwestern (I live in Michigan.)
    0% Midwestern (Who would want to talk like their from the plain states anyway?!)
